about me

Hi there! I’m Ceili, and to be honest it feels weird to introduce myself because I have known all of you for years, but how else do you start an introduction? The question “who are you?” is a common one but it never gets any easier to answer as I am always growing and changing. Right now, Ceili is a 17 year old soon-to-be senior at SkyView Academy who is eagerly awaiting the next chapter of her life, but has no idea what she’s doing. I am your typical coffee-loving Disney fan, who would much rather be traveling the world. I have the typical big Catholic family where I play the middle child of five kids. Because of this, life can get complicated and busy, but I’m used to it. I enjoy going on adventures with my friends (sisters included). These adventures usually consist of Target runs, coffee dates, wandering around cute mountain towns, finding prime photoshoot spots, and spontaneous late night drives. I also love hiking, shopping (if I can scrape any money together), listening to music, and discovering new t.v. shows. Yes, I do watch shows other than Stranger Things (I have watched it so much it’s embarrassing). Although my favorite t.v. show is clear, my favorite book is a little less obvious and to be honest I’m not even sure if I have one. I guess a couple books that I can read again and again, even though they are meant for younger ages, are The Magic Half (time-travel and magic), The Mysterious Benedict Society (adventure and mystery), and like most, Harry Potter. I guess I’m a fan of fantasy, mysteries, and happy endings. Sports don’t exactly agree with me but the stage does. I am passionate about theatre and it has been a significant part of my life since I was eight. It’s something that I’ve stuck with and worked at longer than anything else. Until last year when I played Mary Poppins, I had never been anything more than ensemble. Theatre has taught me so much, especially that hard work and dedication will always pay off in one way or another. One of my other passions is my job. I work at a swim school, Aqua-Tots, where I both instruct and run the front desk. I have worked there for over two years and learned so many valuable lessons. It is never boring and I always have new stories to tell after a shift. I love working with kids and I hope to continue in my future career, whatever that may be. I am both excited for and dreading this coming year, and all of the Important Life Decisions, but then again, who isn’t?

  1. You should have talked more about me, it would have been far more interesting.

P.S. Ms. Brooks, this is my third comment for the first posts, so since it is unnecessary, I’m using it to haze my best friend… hope you don’t mind.

  2. Am I the only person who has yet to read Harry Potter?!? Anyway, it’s so awesome that you have such a passion in your job! So many people have a first job that’s just retail, and they end up hating it, so that’s really cool! And I agree that this upcoming year is exciting yet scary!

  3. I AM OBSESSED WITH THE LAYOUT OF YOUR BLOG. IT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WEBSITE I HAVE EVER SEEN. I love how you approach the reductive question of “who are you?”. You handled it well, like you do most everything… except sports, but as you said, you definitely are one for the stage! Remember me when you are famous… Try not to worry too much about the Important Life Decisions.
